ELITE AIR ADDS FIFTH LEGACY TO CHARTER FLEET
Elite Air has added a fifth Legacy to its charter fleet, this one a 600 based primarily in South Florida. The company has been managing Legacy jets for more than a decade, add- ing its first 650 in the spring of 2020, a second 600 in mid- 2021, and another 650 in mid-2022. The newest 600 was refurbished inside and out in 2016.
“We can’t get enough of these aircraft,” Elite Air Presi- dent AJ Becker said. “If an owner came to me tomorrow and asked us to manage five more, I’d be confident we could charter them as much as they would like.”
The newest addition to Elite Air’s growing Legacy fleet is based primarily at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), but it also spends time at Republic Airport (FRG) in East Farmingdale, New York. The heavy jet is cur- rently Part 91-only but is in the process of moving to Elite Air’s 135 charter certificate.
The 13 passenger heavy jet joins Elite Air-managed Leg- acy 600s based at SFB and PIE and two 650s at PIE. The Embraer Legacy 600 heavy class business jet has a range of up to 3,200 miles, making it capable of traveling from New York to Los Angeles, New York to London or Los Angeles
to Honolulu. The aircraft features a fully enclosed lavatory and full-service galley and seating for 13. Its price point is significantly lower than comparable heavy jets. The Legacy 600 new to the Elite Air fleet features charter-friendly own- ership, a cabin attendant, and the Honeywell Ovation Cabin Management System.
“Every time we add a Legacy jet, I can’t help but smile. I’ve been flying them for more than 15 years now, and they remain one of my favorite jets in the sky,” said Elite Air CEO Gray Gibbs.
The Legacy 600 series is one of the most cost-effective charter platforms in the heavy jet class. The slightly more advanced 650 can transport the same number of passengers, 13, about 300 more miles than its predecessor. Both truly intercontinental aircraft feature fully enclosed lavatories and full-service galleys, along with their signature distinct pas- senger areas for best-in-class privacy.
“For trips across the Atlantic or across the country, charter customers cannot do better on a comfort-to-cost basis than either the Legacy 600 or 650,” Becker said. “We’re lucky to be able to offer customers five of them.”
The newest Legacy to the Elite Air fleet splits time in South Florida and New York.
