Along the coast of KwaZulu-Natal, White-breasted Cormorants (Phalacrocorax lucidus) are known to have bred at nine localities between
Port Edward and St Kitts. All colonies had ≤ c. 30 pairs. At least four colonies are no longer extant.
Introduction:
South of Richards Bay, White-breasted Cormorants (Phalacrocorax lucidus) are known to have bred at nine localities along the KwaZulu-
Natal (KZN) coast (Figure 1). These are briefly described below, commencing in the southwest of KZN.
