This year’s FedTech U was a great success. Some of the comments received in-clude:
“It was truly transformative, and I am so grateful.”
“It is a fantastic program”
“The program exceeded my expectations. First rate. I especially appreciate the fact that we were required to present. I enjoyed everyone’s presentations and I came away with a lot of ideas and things I want to implement into my practice.”
“The material was fantastic andveryhelpful.”
On the Sunday morning, trial master Jack Delany gave a presentation on how to use PowerPoint and/or Apple’s Keynote as a case organization tool. Jack gave some interesting commentary on organizing evidence in Keynote or PowerPoint based on issues presented in the case. Jack gave
an excellent presentation showing how all of the concepts learned at FedTech U come together.
Another focus of FedTech U is
to advance and emphasize the concept that attorneys should become familiar with hardware, software, and apps that can substantially improve how the lawyer reviews and organizes information in his/her law practice. In keeping with this goal,
also on Sunday morning, Evolve Committee member, Dan McCune, gave an excellent presentation
on how to use the Notability App
as a case organizational tool. Notability is a note taking app available on the iPad that has con- sistently ranked as the top-rated app in the App Store. Notability allows users to group notes with customizable subjects and dividers. Additionally, Mr. McCune also gave a presentation on how the Liquid Texts App can be used in a unique way to work with pdf documents.
LiquidText is an app that allows
the user to review voluminous documents and pdfs with the ability to pull out key facts and connect them together in a separate work-space. Evolve Committee member Richard Dukes then gave
a presentation on Doc Review Pad and discussed it as an innovative way to organize and review case documents. At the end, the floor was opened up for the group
to share various technologies,
applications, and approaches using the iPad Pro in practice. Each of the attendees successfully completed the course and received the FDCC’s coveted Technology Master Advocate Designation.
A special thanks to Brian McCann, Vice President, Corporate Services for Veritext, for the special accommodations and the facility to host FedTech U. To hear more about this past FedTech U, please listen
