FedLIFE’s initial programming reflected the mood and needs of the members in 2020. FedLIFE kicked off its programming on
May 27, 2020 with Dani Berry’s presentation on her transformation from a stressed-out lawyer to a mental health and wellness coach. JJ DiGeronimo followed with a hands-on lesson on incorporating mindfulness into our lives, a topic so well received that Dani Berry returned for a second program to offer a closer look at mindfulness. FedLIFE presented a series of authors who had written about their experiences with substance abuse and addiction, and how the lawyer personality can predispose us to mental health challenges.
The end of 2020 brought a sense
of optimism which was a theme that FedLIFE promoted through

The FedLIFE Committee documented the Pandemic through a collection of stories detailing members’ personal experiences throughout the Pandemic. These personal narratives ranged from weddings and grandchildren,
to loss of loved ones, and the struggles of parenting during

book serves as a reminder of the incredible people that make up the FDCC membership and how they endured in the face of tremendous loss and hardship. It’s available

Together with the Communications Committee and the able guidance of Frank Ramos and Kile Turner, FedLIFE is tackling the delicate issue of our aging parents and how best to care for them. In a collection of informative articles and personal narratives, the FDCC is publishing a resource manual to document our collective, acquired knowledge on this challenging topic.
Other 2021 highlights included two social media primers, an 85th Anniversary Celebration with Past Presidents, and cosponsoring
our Keynote Speaker Steven Page at the 2021 Annual Meeting. In- person and virtual programming will continue in 2022 with an emphasis on living for a longer and healthier life. The Winter Meeting will feature Dr. John Westerdahl, a Board-Certified Lifestyle Medicine Specialist, who will teach us how to make immediate lifestyle changes that will protect against aging and disease, allowing us to age smarter, sharper and fitter.
