Looking Back
We enjoyed our President’s Reception at the Air Museum with our country’s military aviation history on display and gave acknowledgment to our members who have served and are serving in our military.
Dining with friends is the good stuff of life and returning as a group for a desert party that featured the music of a former member’s daughter was a nod to our FDCC family dynamic.
A supper club themed closing night featuring Justin and the Swing Beats in the ballroom where Sinatra held his last concert and sang "The Best Is Yet To Come" as his finale was our finale. Howard Merten
and wife Roni Dash can dance! The band’s first set focused upon jazz standards, and the second set featured current dance favorites for a packed dance floor surrounded by blue velvet lounge sets beneath chandelier lighting. We took a
chance on creating a last night that was both informal and classic and that allowed an option for sit-down dining or mixing and mingling with so many friends. The reviews from the survey call it a smashing hit by the vast majority.
We raised over $2,000 for the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens Conservation Center, and new members spent time together working on the eradication of invasive plants that threaten the
