First : multiplying by power of ten
To multiply by 10 move the decimal point 1 place to the
right

2.36 x 10 = 23.6
To multiply by 100 move the decimal point 2 place to the
right

2.364 x 100 = 236.4
To multiply by 1000 move the decimal point 3 place to the
right

4.6951 x 1000 = 4695.1
Second : multiplying decimals by whole numbers

How to evaluate 5 x0.3 ?
First way :

5 then 5 1 decimal place
X 0.3 1 decimal place
