Greek mythology starts with Gaia, who is the mother of all life, and Uranus, who is the sky. Gaia and
Uranus had many children, and some of these children are known as Titans. The Titans weren’t
loved by Uranus, so he put them in a jail called Tartarus. This made Gaia sad, so he asked one of her
kids, Cronus, to stab Uranus. Cronus listened to his mom and killed Uranus. After all this, Cronus
was selected to be the one in charge, and Gaia asked him to release his siblings from Tartarus, but
Cronus was so busy planning his wedding with Rhea that he didn’t listen. But he realized that his
kids might become so powerful that they would overthrow him. So, Cronus being Cronus, he ate all
his kids when they were babies. Except for Zeus, whom Rhea was able to protect. She lied to
Cronus, saying that a rock was their baby, and Cronus believed her, eating a rock. While all this was
happening, Zeus was raised by a goat called Amalthea. When Zeus was all grown up, he made his
father throw up all his siblings, starting a war between them and his father. After fighting for a long
time, Gaia suggested they go to Tartarus and ask the Titans for help. Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon
agreed to this plan and did as Gaia told them to do. The Titans gave Zeus the power of thunder,
Hades the power of invisibility, and Poseidon the power to control the water. With these new
abilities, the gods were able to defeat Cronus and decided to split the ruling among each other.
Zeus got charge of the sky, Poseidon got charge of the oceans, and Hades got charge of the
afterlife. After all this, Zeus married Hera, and they had many children, like Ares, the god of war, and
Hephaestus, who was a blacksmith. One day, Zeus asked Hephaestus to cut open his skull because
of a headache. And this headache turned out to be Athena, the goddess of wisdom, who popped
out of Zeus’s opened head with full battle armor. Athena was the daughter of a villager and Zeus.
Well, you see, Zeus had a lot of affairs and had many children as a result. Two of them are Artemis
and Apollo, whose mother got chased down to an island by Hera after learning about the affair, but
their mother was able to run away from Hera and give birth to the siblings. And raise them safely.
Artemis grew up to be an archer who lived in the forest with her friends and hunted down animals.
Apollo, on the other hand, was social. He was friends with everyone. He also played an instrument
         called the harp.
