• Avoid appearing judgmental or condescending
• If you know you are not the right person for the interview,
draft someone who is
• SPECIFICS! The inconsistencies will be in the specifics
• Trafficker may cast blame on victim:
• “She’s a prostitute.”

Partnerships
• Joint operations and Task Forces can provide resources and
personnel needed for complex trafficking investigations.
• Innocence Lost (FBI), CBI, State Patrol, DA investigators
• Human Trafficking Units Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs
• Trafficking often occurs across jurisdictional boundaries. Information
sharing can provide critical evidence and increased capacity to support
investigations by partner agencies.
• MDTS
• Partnerships with service provider organizations are critical to
the care of victims and support of investigations.
• Remember that victims are not likely to stick around for an investigation
and wait for years for their day in court if their basic needs are not
being met
