We need to start with our thanks because as a Board we’re full of gratitude as 2020 comes to an end. Thank you to the parents and family members who have supported BPS in so many ways this year, to the staff who work so hard make our school a wonderful place to be part of and put so much energy into all our tamariki, and to the Senior Leadership Team of Alice Ho, Samantha Knowles and our Principal Bevan Verryt for inspiring and leading in a way that makes all of us proud to be part of Birkenhead Primary.
2020 has been a rollercoaster ride for us all including your Board of Trustees. Two highlights have been getting the green light for our new build and upgrading the remaining classrooms. We also supported the Senior Leadership and staff through two Lockdowns and the brave new world of education during a pandemic.
This month we farewell three Board members, Charlotte Armstrong, Geordie Lindsay-Russell and Chikera Atkins, Teacher Representative on the Board. We welcome new Board members Nathan Stantiall and Vimal Nair.
We’d like to wish all our departing families the very best for 2021 and the years ahead. We hope you will return to see the new build when it opens next year and we look forward to your Year 6 children returning to visit us whenever they can.
