Who doesn’t love a good ol’ sticky bun? What we don’t love is the feeling of those sweet calo- ries lingering after our delectable treat. However, life is all about balance, and Audrey Goudie and Garlyn Manganiello had the perfect idea to balance out those sticky buns with some good old-fashioned running. Goudie and Manganiello hatched a bril- liant plan to start a road race that stood out to the community seven years ago. With the two women’s love for running mixed with their desire to host an event with savory food, Run Your Buns Off came to life!
With the first race starting in 2009, the event has grown so much over the past twelve years. Run Your Buns Off is a wonder- ful event that brings the commu- nity together while fundraising for local non-profits. The event gained quite a bit of traction over the years that RYBO be- came a 501(c)3 nonprofit to con- tinue assisting local causes called

When speaking to Goudie, she let me know that the locals have made this event a staple
fun awards that show off their determination and skills. Not to mention a huge raffle, and the runners get a hard-earned sticky bun at the end of their race.
It’s incredible to see how big this event has grown over the past twelve years. RYBO has donated so much to the community, and it started with just two girls who liked to run and eat sticky buns. When COVID hit, RYBO was lucky enough to have some money saved up, so they made it their mis- sion to give back even more. They hosted a mobile food pantry for the community, and it was a fantastic event.
Goudie told me that people who came to the food drive didn’t even have to get out of their cars, and there were no questions asked. All they wanted to do was make sure families had food on their ta-

bles. RYBO will partner with the New Hampshire Food Bank once again to put on that mobile food pantry sometime this winter. The New Hampshire Food Bank will also serve as the RYBO benefi- ciary, and the money raised from the race this year will go to the next mobile food bank.
When asked about how she feels about the event and the community, Goudie stated, “The Newfound community is just so giving, and we love where we live. We want to bring everyone together in good health, so the runners and the families come to- gether to contribute to Run Your Buns Off, and we use that to give back to the community.” Sound like you want to have a fun-filled Labor Day weekend?
