NEW DIRECTOR

she would love to be their new library director. “This place has energy, and I could see there was a lot of love for this library.” It wasn’t long before Davis learned her application had been ac- cepted and now looks forward to Jan. 3, when she will officially become their new director.
Living somewhat locally, she’s done business in Bristol for sev- eral years but is excited that now she has the chance to get to know the residents better. Recently she said some of the trustees took her to a Budget Committee meet- ing where she received a warm welcome and was once again impressed by their commitment to the library, too. “It was re- ally nice because this is a town- owned library, not an outside agency like many are, and every- one here seems really invested in their library. So it’s wonderful to see that,” said Davis.
Looking toward the future of Minot-Sleeper Library, she’s eager to begin talks with her staff, patrons, and the business com- munity to hear their thoughts

about the wants and needs of the community and how she might help make a difference.
“The library is really the heart of a community. So I want to know what people love about this library, what changes they’d like, and where they’d like to see the library in the next five years,” said Davis.
Asked about any issues she’s encountered in this new role, however, there was only one. “My commute to work isn’t long enough now for listening to au- diobooks,” she replied with a big grin.
Minot-Sleeper Library is lo- cated at 35 Pleasant St. in Bris- tol, serving the communities of Bristol, Bridgewater, Alexandria, Hebron, and Hill. It offers a vari- ety of programs, including book clubs, special interest groups, computer services, community, children and teen programs, and much more. straight to the TTCC for renova- tions and building maintenance so the center can do some much- needed repairs and maintenance to the building so that future generations can enjoy this over the 100-year-old structure that has been the heart of the com- munity.
“It’s something we’ve been looking to do for a couple of years now,” owner Jason Briand told me. “Obviously, we’ve been living in the middle
of a pandemic, so it’s been difficult to get it done, but there has been such a de- mand for epoxy floor- ing that we figured now would finally be a great time to do this.”
Lakes Region Epoxy
has been open for six years, and its mission has always been to re- store pride to its clients. Briand told me, “We want to help get our clients to achieve that level of pride that they’re looking for, and epoxy flooring is such a beautiful product. Epoxy flooring provides
this sense of pride to our clients, which is the backbone of everything. It makes our cli- ents feel a certain way about their space that truly is a ga- mechanger.” Their residential interior epoxy flooring projects include basements, utility rooms, and man caves. Their residential garage floors include many dif-
ferent colors and style options, floor protection, and easy main- tenance. And their commercial epoxy flooring and repairs and installations include kitchens, bathrooms, garages, shop floors, and gym floors.
The Newfound area has al- ways been a wonderful commu- nity, and Briand told me that when they moved the business to Bristol back in 2019, the com- munity has been nothing but welcoming. “The community is
great. When we moved up here a few years ago, they all welcomed us with open arms, and their response was truly incredible. Not even with just the business side of it all, but people were extremely gracious and kind when meeting us. It really is a
special area for sure.”
