4) Use a learning circle. Sit in a circle of 6 – 10, ask that each person share a story on a particular topic (example for a neighborhood caregivers’ circle: please share a story of you and a resident from this past week that touched your heart.) Ask for a volunteer to start and then from there go around the circle and give everyone a chance to share their own story.
Other questions to pose to encourage story sharing in a learning circle:
• Share a story about an elder that has inspired you.
• Share a story about a relationship that you have seen grow between residents here.
• Share a story about growth and learning that an elder has experienced recently.
• Share a story about a resident you personally care deeply about.
• Share a story about an elder that has taken a leadership role in this culture change effort. Share a story about your own
growth as a leader.
