Communication Story
Staff in one Perham Memorial household never learned about an upcoming special event until after-the-fact. Upon investigation, it was discovered the coordinator was the only person in the household who regularly got the facility’s newsletter; other staff relied on her
to inform them about events listed
in it. She was on vacation when the event in question was listed, so the announcement was not passed around. An obvious solution is to get the newsletter into everyone’s hands and post events for all to see. Miscommunication stories are obviously good tools to take a look at your system.
