Planning Activities as a Team
Staff members tell us big production activities tire them out and they can’t do them all the time. Unfortunately, some feel they end
up doing it all and this is why they tire out. Remember, no longer is it the activity staff’s role alone to organize events big or small.
So, along with training staff on how to lead activities, they probably need training on how to plan them.
Whether you are a caregiver or householder, don’t take it on yourself to do all the planning and coordinating. Present ideas and tasks that need to be shared: “If I do this, will you do that?” We’ve learned time and again that when we present what needs to be done, people rise to the occasion and do their share.
Community Learning Circle Questions
How good are we as a group at planning? What is lacking?
What do we need to work on?
Are you a planner or a helper? Why?
