Personal Community Connections
Personal community connections are
more easily discovered and honored in the Household Model. At Perham Memorial, a householder and staff member in the same household discovered that they both love to go to rummage sales. Needless-to-say, “rummage sale-ing” has become a meaningful outing and community connection for their household.
Residents may have connection to community events and/or organizations in which they have been involved throughout their lives. See if there isn’t some way for them and even other householders to still be involved. Perhaps other members of the organization would be interesting in visiting your household. Staff may have connections to tap into as well.
