Team Knows Best
No longer does a manager make the decisions and “tell” them to staff. The household team members are the folks who know their household elders the best and so are best suited to facilitate the elders’ decisions about how they want to live their daily lives. Each team member knows
what she can accomplish and usually feels honored to be asked instead of told.
Team members are also in the best position to assess and address the needs of the household and individuals moment by moment. Service and care becomes more seamless and natural like a home. So, of course, workers and elders are happier.
