Conversely, if it is used to print large quantities of products, digital techniques
are less efficient.
If you are interested in getting into this business, you must be prepared to face
tough competition. However, this is certainly not a reason to discourage you
from doing business. Offer your strengths and uniqueness to attract potential
customers.
Offset Printing
Offset printing is done using a machine. Unlike digital
machines, offset machines can only be used to print
on paper material. The products produced are limited
to brochures, envelopes, letterheads, magazines,
books, food packaging, and others.
The advantage of offset printing is that it can be used to make print products in
large quantities, which can even reach more than 5 thousand pieces. Therefore,
you should already have a clear marketing plan and targets before deciding to
start this business.
Rotogravure
This type of printing may not be very popular, unlike digital
and offset printing. Rotogravure is a printing technique
using a machine that is done on a plastic material. Just like
offset printing, rotogravure can be used to print large
quantities of products.
Based on the printout, there are two types of rotogravure prints. The first type is
a printout with ink on plastic. The second type is the printout with the ink in the
middle because it is coated with another plastic material which is glued together
like lamination.
Screen
Printing Among the existing printing techniques, screen printing is the most
well-known type and the screen printing business has been running for a long
time. Screen printing technique is done manually on an inked screen. The
advantage of screen printing technique is that it can be used on cloth, paper, or
plastic.
