REALTORS SERVING THE PUBLIC
The residential real estate market is poised to drive the economic recovery in 2021. As REALTORS, we ADVOCATE for policies that promote and protect the public's right to equitable and accessible housing in pursuing the American Dream of homeownership. Thus, we cannot support the passage of SB2624 for the following:
• Protection of the Public is too important to be placed with a "Pilot Program".
• There is no public clamoring for redesign of a proven hearing process that has been in place since 1954.
• SB2624 statutorily reassigns MREC regulatory responsibility without input from MREC, Administrator, or appointed Real Estate Commissioners.
• S82624 provides enhanced protections for alleged violators with no added protections for the public.
• S82624 was hastily prepared with conceptual language and rushed to passage in the Senate with no consideration for the public or the implementation hurdles.
