The LAT exists to further and advance the association’s APPROVED LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES as
determined by the association’s BOD AND LRAC
LAT shall be responsible for QUICK ACTION items that arise during the annual and special Legislative
sessions, wherein the association’s APPROVED LEGISLATIVE PACKAGE and APPROVED LEGISLATIVE
PRIORITIES are, or may come to be, under consideration.
: LAT exists to further and advance the association’s approved legislative priorities as
determined by association’s BOD and LRAC.
(My Note: No mention of approval by LAT or EC. In this section describing the LAT and duties, the words: approved legislative priorities, approved legislative package is used 24 times!!!!)
Duties and Responsibilities:

Definition of Approved Legislative Package:
1. Approved legislative priorities (Approved by LRAC and BOD).
2. Legislative priorities proposed for adoption by the association
3. Or legislation proposed by 3rd parties that is SUPPORTED BY THE ASSOCIATION

The LAT shall communicate with the GAD, during the planning stage, prior to the annual legislative session and other appropriate times.
1. So that the LAT is aware of association’s APPROVED legislative priorities
2. Political issues are relevant to association
3. To enhance relationships between the association and relevant 3rd third parties that affect the association’s policy and political activities
4. Other issues relevant to ADVANCEMENT OF ASSOCIATION’S APPROVED POLITICAL PRIORITIES (P&P, 10.3.2)

GAD Responsibilities:
The GAD has final authority to specific legislative amendments to legislative proposals and , in

AT ALL TIMES, the LAT shall work with the GAD and the LRAC to ensure the association’s APPROVED
legislative priorities are advanced
During the session, the LAT and GAD take all APPROPRIATE action necessary to ADVANCE AND SUPPORT
the association’s APPROVED legislative priorities as they relate to PENDING LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES or
initiatives
APPROVED LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES.
The GAD is ultimately responsible to the association FOR ADVANCEMENT OF
all other matters essential to achieving APPROVED legislative priorities
consultation with the LAT, LRAC, and EC.
