Snakefly

Period: Cretaceous

Age: 125 million years

Region: Santana Formation, Araripe Basin,
Brazil

There are estimated to be around 150 species
of snakefly. These are one of the proofs that
all life forms appeared suddenly and have
survived down to the present day unchan-
ged. This 125-million-year-old fossil snakefly
has exactly the appearance and wonderful

characteristics as snakeflies living today.
