Pleasant Words from the Gospel
One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinct-
ly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, "Cornelius!"
(Acts, 10:3)
... They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who
said he was alive. (Luke, 24:23)
A holy angel told him to have you come to his house so that he could
hear what you have to say. (Acts, 10:22)
... He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say,
'Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He will bring you a mes-
sage through which you and all your household will be saved.' (Acts,
11:13-14)
On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his
throne and delivered a public address to the people. They shouted...
Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of
the Lord struck him down [took his life] and he was eaten by worms
and died. (Acts, 12:21-23)
For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end
of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have
been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to
men. (1 Corinthians, 4:9)
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I
