forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be
blessed in what he does. (James, 1:25)

... All who sin under the law [God's commandments] will be

judged by the law. For it is not those who hear the law who
are righteous in God's Sight, but it is those who obey the law
who will be declared righteous. (Romans, 2:12-13)

As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. Anyone,
then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it,

Respecting Devout Parents

[Jesus:] "You know the commandments [of God]: 'Do not mur-
der, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false tes-
timony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.'"
(Mark, 10:19)

[Jesus:] "... Honor your father and mother..." (Luke, 18:20;
Matthew, 19:19)

Children, obey your parents in the Lord [for the approval of
God], for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"—
which is the first commandment with a promise—"that it may
go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them
up in the training and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians, 6:1-
4)

For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother'... (Mark,
