In 1984, 3,000 "suspects" were locked in the Santiago Stadium for interrogation. In the first
years of the regime, thousands of people were killed, and 90,000 people out Chile's population
of 9 million were detained, many of whom were tortured. Such was the manner in which
Pinochet introduced fascism to the people of Chile.
