very valuable for human development. Allah created this tiny crea-
ture out of compassion for fish, and for human beings who use fish
as food.
In addition, diatoms also have industrial uses in filtering and
insulation. These organisms are particularly important in trans-
forming silica, nitrate and phosphate to a state that can be used by
living things. 73 They can even be used for purifying undrinkable
water springs.
Most of these processes cannot be carried out under even mod- HARUN YAHYA
ern-day laboratory conditions. But the way a single-celled diatom
functions just like a chemical laboratory is of course none of its own
doing. Unaware of the carbon dioxide outside, the oxygen it produ-
ces, or the importance of the vitamin D in fish oil, it merely fulfils (ADNAN OKTAR)
