scribe bacteria's seemingly conscious behavior to protect human be-
ings in terms of evolution, rather than as the result of an intelligent,
superior Creation. But in fact, it is absolutely impossible for coinci-
dence to account for the way a bacterium installs itself on the taste-
buds at the rear of the tongue, together with all its miraculous fea-
tures, protecting the body from poisonous substances. Like the hu-
man organism itself, this delicate system exists to demonstrate to all

those entities capable of reason that there is only one Allah, and
there is no other Creator but Him.
This truth is revealed to us in the Qur'an:

He is the First and the Last, the Outward and the Inward. He
has knowledge of all things. It is He Who created the heavens
and the Earth in six days, then established Himself firmly on
the Throne. He knows what goes into the Earth and what
