In another hadith, the Prophet (saas) stated that the Qur'an was the
word of Allah:
"Honesty descended from the Heavens and settled in the roots
of the hearts of men (faithful believers), and then the Qur'an
was revealed and the people read the Qur'an, (and learned from
it) and also learned it from the Sunnah. Both Qur'an and
Sunnah strengthened their (the faithful believers') honesty." 41

This is why the Prophet (saas) placed great importance in teaching
the Qur'an:
"Acquire the knowledge and impart it to the people. Learn the
Qur'an and teach it to the people; for I am a person who has
to depart this world." 42
