THE PROFOUND DARKNESS OF THE HYPOCRITE

In a hadith, our Prophet (pbuh) says: "Many more people will avoid commit-
ting a sin because of the fear of the Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) instead of the Qur'an
(Al-Futuhat al-Makkiyah, p. 6). As mentioned in the hadith, hypocrites will not

fear God but they will dread Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) wisdom, powerful foresight

and prudence. Our Prophet (pbuh) said "... Hazrat Mahdi will recognize hypocrites
from their signs." (Yawm al-Khalas, Kamel Sulayman, p 135). As related in the ha-
dith, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will immediately identify the hypocrites. Since hyp-

ocrites know this, they will fear conducting insidious activity. Ultimately, they

will not have the courage or power for corruption and will end their hypocritical

actions and will have to live like a Muslim. Our Prophet (pbuh) mentioned Hazrat
Mahdi's (pbuh) spiritual hegemony over hypocrites in a hadith:

... From Abu Bashir: Imam Jaffar Sadik said this about the verse: "You would

know them by their mark" (Surah Muhammad, 30): God knows them, however

this verse has been revealed concerning the Qaim [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)].
Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will know them (the hypocrites) from their faces and
with his community, he will (intellectually) destroy them. (Sheikh Muhammad
ibn Ibrahim Numani, al-Ghaybah al-Numani, p. 283)

As mentioned in another hadith, "When the enemy of God, the antichrist,

sees the Prophet Jesus (pbuh), he [the antichrist] will dissolve like salt in the
water," (Sahih Muslim, Book 41, 6924). Just like the disappearance of system of an-
tichrist 'like the salt in water' against truth, hypocrites in the Islamic word will

lose all their power and influence before Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) in the same way.

Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), with inspiration from God, will annihilate hypocrites'
'covertness', which is their most important weapon, and will reveal their ignominy
and evil methods with his wisdom. Thus, all advantages that hypocrites have

obtained so far will be destroyed and the hypocritical system, which is unidentified,

unknown, and indefinable by people, will be revealed. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will

annihilate the secrecy of hypocrites and their ruses.
Yet hypocrites are 'like bats'. Bats, when they see the sun or light, are scattered
and look for a place to hide. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will reveal them by putting a

spotlight on them. Wherever they escape to, they will know that he will catch them

intellectually and this will prevent them from displaying immoral behavior. God

will send Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) as a savior to Islamic world. This is a blessing from
God for Mahdi and a mercy for believers. The Islamic world will regain its long-
awaited prosperity, peace and happiness by Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) at God's will.
