The green chloroplasts in a plant’s cells are where
photosynthesis takes place. Chloroplasts absorb
sunlight to be used in photosynthesis. Their struc-
tures resemble interconnected balloons (top right)

side the chloroplast. The grana resemble discs
piled on top of one another, and form through
the coming together of flat, sac-like structures
