People Are Punished for Their
Own Evil Deeds
TORAH: What has happened to us is a result of our evil
deeds and our great guilt, and yet, our God, you have pun-
ished us less than our sins have deserved... (Ezra, 9:13)
QURAN: Any disaster that strikes you is through what your
own hands have earned and He (Allah) pardons much. (Surat
ash-Shura, 30)
How the Morally Corrupt Communicate by
Means of Ignorant Facial Expressions
TORAH: A scoundrel and villain, who goes about with a cor-
rupt mouth, who winks with his eye, signals with his feet
and motions with his fingers, who plots evil with deceit in
his heart—he always stirs up dissension. (Proverbs, 6:12)
QURAN: Woe to every faultfinding backbiter. (Surat al Hu-
maza, 1)
Unbelievers' Eyes and Ears Are Insensitive
TORAH: He said, "Go and tell this people: 'Be ever hearing,
but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiv-
ing.'" (Isaiah, 6:9)
The word of the Lord came to me: "Son of man, you are living
among a rebellious people. They have eyes to see but do not
see and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious
people. (Ezekiel, 12:1-2)
