Ears that hear and eyes that see—the Lord has made them
both. (Proverbs, 20:12)
... The Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in
them... (Psalms, 146:6)
This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they
were created. When the Lord God made the earth and the
heavens—and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the
earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord
God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to
work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and wa-
tered the whole surface of the ground—the Lord God formed
the Adam from the dust of the ground and breathed into his
nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living be-
ing. (Genesis, 2:4-7)
He [the Prophet Solomon (pbuh)] described plant life, from
the cedar of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of walls. He
also taught about animals and birds, reptiles and fish. Men
of all nations came to listen to Solomon's wisdom, sent by all
the kings of the world, who had heard of his wisdom. (1
Kings, 4:33-34)
For, before the harvest, when the blossom is gone and the flo-
wer becomes a ripening grape... (Isaiah, 18:5)
Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vines have bud-
ded, if their blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates
are in bloom... The mandrakes send out their fragrance, and
at our doors are all sorts of fruit, both new and old... (Song of
Solomon, 7:12-13)
