                     dent 'the biggest humiliation for the British after Gallipoli...'

                         British historian James Morris would call the defeat at Kut 'the most ab-
                     ject capitulation in Britain's military history'. Christopher Catherwood, an-

                     other British historian calls this defeat 'the worst defeat of the Allies in World

                     War I.' 109
