Functional Position Splints
Pre-formed functional position splints position the wrist and hand in approximately 30° of wrist extension, neutral devia- tion, 35°of MCP flexion and 20°of PIP and DIP flexion. The thumb is positioned in opposition and palmar abduction. Splints can be modified easily for a custom fit.
Sizing Guidelines:
To determine size, measure the width of the 2nd to 5th MCP. Small – 21⁄2”–31⁄2” (6.4 – 8.9cm)
Medium – 31⁄2”–41⁄2” (8.9 – 11.4cm)
Large – over 41⁄2” (11.4cm)
