Driving Lessons

Ignis was taught how to drive by Marshal Cor
Leonis. As a precaution or just Cor being in a
particularly sadistic mood he taught Ignis how
to drive through a warzone and how he would
most efficiently escort his protégé out of harm’s
way while Gladiolus presumably shielded him
from any gunfire. These lessons included a
number of hours driving at breakneck speed
just to make sure that Ignis had it down to a T.
Perhaps it should have worried the Marshal
that it took very little for Ignis to master the
ability to drive as if Ifrit’s hellfire was burning at
his taillights.

Nowadays Ignis doesn’t drive in such a
manner very often, after all it is reckless driving
and would set a poor example on Noct, not to
mention it could possibly harm him which
would be inexcusable. So when faced with a
situation where they’re actually in a car-chase
with a machine-gun peppering fire at them the
other Chocobros are shocked to learn that
Ignis knows how to drive like he’s in that racing
game Prompto and Noct kept on talking about
during sixth grade, the tactician weaving
through the proverbial bullet storm with
practised ease. All he will say when questioned
about it afterwards would be “I did tell you to
wear a seatbelt.
