the nostalgia of going back in time. For better or for worse (в горе или
в радости), we can’t escape (убежать от) our journey when trying to
                reach our goal.
If you want to build self-confidence, you need to be willing to accept your
past, even the parts that you want to forget. You might want to burn the
negatives and forge ahead (двигаться вперёд), but to move forward, you
have to find peace with your past and your present. Self-confidence is not
pretending (притворяться) or performing –– it’s making peace with who
you were, who you are, and who you will become. In many ways,
it’s accepting your experiences, taking responsibility for your mistakes,
and figuring out how to move forward with healthy habits.
                Exercise 544. Translate the dialogues.
Exercise 547. Put the verbs into the correct tenses.
                1. Honestly, Grant’s persuasive son-in-law (would rather/had
better/should) (to run) this by his boss, as this piece of information
(to be) extremely important for the upcoming negotiations.
                2. Apparently, Bob’s diligent daughter (not to run) this by him and as a
result she (not to have) a decent cover letter (to send) to her potential
                    employer last week.
                3. By the way, Allan’s bored customer (to get used to/to be used) to a
steady source of income these days, as two years ago he (used
to/would) (to work) almost for free.
                4. Naturally, Rayan’s meticulous accountant (to brush) up his
communication skills, as he (to have) a meeting with the savviest
                    shareholder today at 13.45.
                5. Besides, Norton’s frugal daughter-in-law (to get used to/to be used
to/used to) (to research) common interview questions last year, as she
(not could/not can) (to get) a high paying job in the past because of
her poor knowledge of the company.
