On the personal, social, and global/collective
levels, those “lessons” continue to involve the
testing of existing structures and systems we
have created and use to support our Earth Walk
(Saturn), and the transformation (death and
rebirth) of those systems that no longer work
(Pluto). Virtually every social/political system
has come under scrutiny over the past two
decades, the failures and vulnerabilities exposed,
and the need for transformation intensified. The
seven-year hiatus of Uranus in Taurus certainly
adds a level of unpredictability and suddenness
to the mix and places more emphasis on the
systems of Mother Earth, herself. We can expect
sudden and unexpected Earth changes to
continue, forcing Humanity to rally and unite
in unprecedented ways during already chaotic
times. We can expect continuous shifts in the
way we define/think about resources - what they
are, how they are dispersed, and the wisdom with
which we use them. Like health care, economic,
educational, technological, and political systems,
we will soon learn if our technological systems
can withstand the burden of the next new crisis.
Another aspect of Capricorn and its ruler, Saturn,
relates to the concept of Karma. Saturn is, in fact,
called “The Lord of Karma” for a reason. This
is especially true for The United States, which
has Pluto in Capricorn, and is experiencing
its first Pluto return (coincidentally joined by
Saturn) since its birth in 1776. Following the
tragic death of George Floyd, a new level of
discussion is emerging worldwide regarding
systemic inequalities within our social/political
systems. The collective resonance with this
new movement speaks to the importance of
addressing the less blatant, more insidious levels
of “disease” that infects us at the core, and keeps
us from truly achieving and living the “American
Ideal” of which we are so proud. We take great
pride in being a nation built on democratic
principles of freedom and equality, and one that
