Teaching and learning

We have the highest standards of teaching and learning at Banbury
Aspirations Campus as we know this is a key way in how we can transform

          the lives of our students.

We have a learning structure on our campus which we expect all teachers

to follow (variations are provided for practical and vocational subjects).
The details of this are below and will be discussed further during our

          induction day.

          Learning structure summary

Details of the Big 5 plus (our vision for great teaching) can be found here

(a narrated version of this ppt can be found on the induction pages of the

CPD website: here) and are detailed in our Teaching and Learning policy.

Expectations in terms of teaching and learning can be found here.

          Feedback to students

Each department has their own feedback policy and our school policy for

this can be found here. Department feedback policies have been written to
take teacher workload into account while still providing meaningful

feedback to students. We have a principle of diagnostic or process-level

marking which improves the student, rather than simply the task and

drives progress forward. Where whole class feedback sheets are used, we
still give individual feedback to pupil premium students in their books.

          Home learning

Consolidation of learning at home is important in order for students to
make the best possible progress, but this must be meaningful and not give

teachers additional workload. At KS3 students will be set fortnightly home
