Mainly her dad helps with the car, but there have been many others who helped them throughout the years and got them to where they are today.
Her home track is Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, TX. But they have traveled as far as Memphis, TN and Topeka, KS to race as well as Louisiana, North Texas and Oklahoma. She runs a 1937 Chevy Truck, primarily in the Super Gas class at divisional and national events, and at local bracket races she races in the super pro class.
There are quite a few women that are at her home racetrack and in the division as well. She is not close friends with them but they all support each other 110%.
Jordin’s ultimate goal as of right now is just to win a Super Gas divisional/national event. Future goals will be to win US Nationals in Indy, whether it’s in super gas or another class. She also hopes to license and compete in Top Dragster, and Top Sportsman. She would also absolutely love an opportunity to race pro mod and top alcohol dragster.
Jordin’s favorite part of being a race car driver is just being a fe- male in a male dominated sport. “It’s rewarding to have so much support from so many people when they learn that I’m a driver, especially in such a unique racecar. I also love being able to strap into the truck and feel the adrenaline when I turn the truck on, pull up to the burnout box and make a run.” she said. “To be a successful race car driver is just to put forth my absolute best effort at every race. Whether I win or I lose, I always learn something to help me in the future. I didn’t win a race last year that counted towards the points but I still finished in the top 10 for my rookie year so I would definitely consider that successful.”
Jordin’s long time car number is 4109, which was given to her by the NHRA when she signed up in 2006, but for the year of 2019 her number is 48 because she finished 8th in the division 4 points in super gas.
On race day she always wears purple on Fridays (if they have the 3-4 day races), and she has a specific routine she does after she straps in until the time she stages at the tree.
You can follow Jordin at Freedom Rocks Racing on Facebook and her personal Instagram @miss410j. She tries to keep those pages updated with her racing as much as pos- sible.
“We are a military tribute team and support active and past military vets. The bed of the race truck includes 53 signatures from veterans and continually adding more. We are currently looking for anyone to help us finish painting our vision on the truck.” she shared with us.
