won the first heat race, finished second in the 2nd heat race and won the feature. Pretty impressive!
Delaney’s two local tracks are US-41 Speedway in Lake Village, IN and K-3 Speedway in Kankakee, IL. But she loves to travel and race, and has also raced in six states at 13 different tracks.
She races a 2018 Rage Razor Champ Kart and a 2004 Rage Nitro Champ Kart in the Jr. Sportmans Champ (Jr. 1 Champ) class.
One of her favorite stories to share is this: “During my first race at I70/I77 Speedway this year, I got tangled with another kart and launched into the wall and cartwheeled my kart on the wall, landing on all 4 tires. They started me back up and I finished the race.” she said. Pretty tough young girl I’d say!
There were no other girls to race against in the Ohio Championship Karting Series, but she does race with lots of girls at her local tracks. They are all friends and have lots of fun at the track, making lifelong friend- ships. Most importantly she likes to have fun. “I race the people the way I want to be raced. No matter if I win, or lose we always try to have fun.” she shared.
Delaney’s racing goal is to win as many races as she can and one day win a championship.
Her favorite part of racing is to have fun racing every week in the summer. Being a successful race car driver to Del- aney means to accomplish her goals and always give 110% when she races.
Her car number is 20 and she picked it because her birthday is January 20th.
On race day she wears her “Dirt Track Diva” shirt or “Talk Racing to me” shirt.
You can follow her at Delany Pitner Racing on Facebook.
