When she is not racing she likes to play softball and likes to draw and hang out with her family. Valen- tino Rossi is her favorite driver, and he inspired her to start racing.
Josie used to help her Dad at the track when he raced a superbike and she really liked it. “We were on our way to a boring bicycle ride and saw a dirt bike for sale on the corner of the street. That was the begin- ning!
Her most memorable mo- ment in her racing career is when she scored 1st place in the kids GP heat race at Boxshop and got pole posi- tion. “I ended up getting 2nd place but I was still happy.” she said.
Josie’s dad helps her with her bike and her best finish was when she scored 1st place in the kids GP Heat race at Boxshop and got the pole position in July.
She races at Boxshop Speed- way and Brockton Fairgrounds. She races a Yamaha PW80 racebike in the Kids GP class.
One of her favorite rac- ing stories is: “I kept falling before the hairpin turn but then our coach showed me how to turn in with a wider race line.” It’s the little things that matter!
There is one other girl that races at Josie’s home track. They call her “Animal” and Josie likes her and said she is a good racer.
Josie hopes to get experi- enced and successful enough to race in Moto GP. She really likes to race bikes - “I love the feel of the wind and going fast and passing. Winning is good and losing is fine because I’m learning from my mistakes.” she shared.
Her bike is number 23 be- cause it was availabe and close to the date of her birthday. In addition to her race suit, she wears leggings and a short sleeve shirt under all her gear.
“I would like to thank my family for supporting me and loving
me so much! I would like to thank you for doing this and telling all the girls they can do anyhing and be anything they want to be!” she said. Josie doesn’t have her own social media accounts but her dad posts pictures and information about her racing on his page.
