Josie Whitson Keeps Moving Forward
No surprise that a girl who’s fa- vorite quote is “Keep moving forward” from Walt Disney, has cats named Min- nie and Muffin. Josie Whitson is 10 years old and her family also consists
of her brother Elliott, her Dad Roy, her Mom Debbie and Josie. She has two best friends, who are twins.
She races her motorcycle at Boxshop Speedway in Maine, partici-
pates in the Girls Scouts, is a member of the ski club at her school and also takes dance, acro and tumbling.
Her favorite resturaunt proba- bly has to be McDonalds, and her fa- vorite vacation was this past July when her family stayed in Gran Isle Maine on the lake. They also visited her Mom’s family and she made a new friend next door from where she stayed. Her favor- ite food is beans. She plays with Barbies sometimes, but is so busy with her ac- tivities most of the time.
Her favorite TV shows are The Good Doctor and Amazing World of Gumball on Hulu. Her favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas.
Most people don’t know she races bikes, except her Girl Scout troop. Josie is in the 5th grade at Frank- lin Middle School. She brought some pictures to school and a boy came up to her and tried to make her feel bad about not racing on dirt, but she said, “I don’t care because I like racing on pavement
and have a lot of fun and I am proud of myself and what I do.” (Good for you Josie!) In the future she wants to have a family and share her love of racing with them. She plans to be a nurse as her ca- reer.
