“That track is my favorite place in the whole world. It’s my happy place, it’s where I get the most excited to go. I’ve been there a million times and still get all giddy pulling up to the gates. I’ve watched so many people I look up to race down that track. I’ve spent year af- ter year and race after race camping out there. We run at Sonoma multi- ple times a year and up until this event I
had never made it past the second round in Top Dragster. To have my first win there was the greatest feeling. As soon as I saw my win light come on I started screaming and crying. My mom about jumped off the golf cart while it was still moving when they got to the shut off area to come give me a hug. All of my family and I were crying afterwards. It was great.” she shared.
Also, this June at Samoa Drag- strip they had CIFCA (California Inde- pendent Funny Car Association) come out for a weekend and she was asked by them if she would want to match race against one of the funny cars. This
event was highly promoted, they even had a car show Friday night before the race weekend.
“More people than you could imagine came out to Samoa to watch us race. It was crazy seeing our little race track that full and that many people so excited. I had never match raced before, let alone race against a funny car. I guess you could say home track advantage was a good thing for me, because I was lucky enough to take the win. It was huge for me participating in an event this big and to win it was amazing. That day will be forever one of the coolest races I’ve been part of and I’m so thankful for the experience.” she said.
There are mul- tiple women drivers at the tracks where Kaycee races. Some she has become friends with, but ev- eryone she has ever met or competed with all support each other and root each other on.
Kaycee’s number one goal/ dream has been to drive her families Top Alcohol Dragster for her grandpa.
“Of course I would love to make a career out of Drag Racing and drive Top Fuel, but driving Top Alco- hol has always been my biggest dream and have hoped a Top Fuel ride would result from that. No matter what class I’m competing in, in the future, I hope to be successful and make a good name for myself. There’s nothing I love more than racing so as long as I’m driving I’ll be happy.”
“My favorite part of racing is the feeling you get while strapped in the car is like no other. It’s truly an indescribable feeling. I love everything about it. The feeling that you get when you’re waking up and its race day, putting all your gear on and getting in the car. The feeling in your chest when you’re pulling up to the beams to stage. The launch. The feeling of accomplishment you get after you crossthefinishline.Adrenaline.Every- thing. There’s not one bad thing about it. One of my favorite things is after I just made a pass and going back to my pit and seeing the smiles on my family members’ faces. Just the feeling of do- ing what you love is the best feeling in
