Goal for Lauren Howell is Track Champion
Twelve year old Lauren Howell, from London, ON, Canada is a fun outgoing young racer. She lives with her parents and her younger brother Jackson, all of whom she loves very much. Her dog is her favorite furbaby, and she has a cat who is rather grumpy, and likes to eat.
Lauren’s favorite vacation destination is Grand Cayman Islands because it is so beautiful and she got to play with turtles.
The piece of advice that has stuck with her is “Al- ways stay true to you, and dont be fake.”
Lauren played with both cars and dolls when she was younger. Her favorite TV shows are Riverdale and The Vampire Diaries. Christmas is her favorite holiday.
Lauren enjoys babysitting and the little kids she
cares for think it’s cool that she is a drag racer.
Lauren goes to a French Immersion Public School,
and she is in the 7th grade. Her goals after school are to train to become a 911 call operator. Her classmates think it is really awesome that she races a Jr. Dragster. She hopes to be able to always have the opportunity to race.
When she is not racing or at school, she likes to hang out with her friends and she enjoys swimming.
Her favorite racers are Erica Enders and Paul Noakes.
Lauren started racing when she was 9 years old. Her uncle used to race pro stock trucks for Jerry Haas. Her cousin started racing and then four years after that she followed in his footsteps.
One of her favorite memories is when she cut a 0.009 light last season
and came the #1 qualifier. Her mar- keting partners are Mahon Family Racing and Cana- dian Performance Warehouse.
Lauren’s grandpa and un- cle influenced her to start racing. Her Uncle Mike, grandparents and parents help her with her dragster. Her best finish was second at the Jr. Free-for-All out
of 43 cars. Her home track is Thomas Raceway Park.
Lauren’s car is made by LJ Chassie and her engine is a
Blossom Rhino 2.1 that runs methanol.
She races in the Western Overhead Door Jr.Dragster
series.
In Lauren’s second year of racing she crashed her car,
upgrading to a larger engine.
Nearly half the class she races against are female, in-
cluding her cousin, and this years track champion is also a wom- an.
Lauren’s short term goal is to be track champion, and her long term goal is to go pro. She loves racing because of the high that she gets when she first leaves the finish line. “That is what I race for.” she said.
“Being a successful driver is if you can have fun at the track, run competitively, and come home without a wrecked car,
