Sometimes I am like Tow Mater with my absolute air head days, and some- times I am Lightening McQueen, su- per cool and knows what is happening LOL!
IWMA: Who is your favorite race car driver?
I LOVE KENNY WALLACE! I also hope I meet him one day when I fly over to the US. He is just so real, caring and kind also super family orientated. He isn’t always up in the front but his spirit and passion never changes. IWMA: Tell us your race story.
My story starts with my Mother. She raced for a few years before I did. She was having so much fun traveling and racing that I wanted to have a go. My Father gave me an ultimatum. Sell the horses and you can have a race car. So, I did! I was 15 when I had my first racing season at Geraldton City Speedway in Juniors and took out the Club Cham-
ing into Seniors (Productions) was my most memorable so far. My parents took me to Sharkbay Western Australia for the Far Western Championships. My Toyota Corolla got me over the line in first place and I became the first female EVER to win this prestigious event. My helmet had fogged up in tears driving back into the pits and I saw my Dad on his knees crying of joy, this is some- thing I will never forget.
IWMA: Who helps you with your car? My Father. He has built my car we have now, and we share a very special bond over it. I have some awesome rac- er family who help too, Robbie & Ricky who also race in my division, I have an awesome engine builder from Mendes Race Engines who is always a phone call away. I have awesome supporters to help me race each meeting, Williams Motorsport, Chris Cheffings Photogra- phy, Highline Racewear, Wizard Tarps,
first ever National Title in South Aus- tralia and placed 43rd in the Country. In seniors, I raced at a track in Collie Western Aus, I qualified top 6 from 25 cars and got to race my first ever Pole Shuffle. which was such a rush! Start- ed Pole at a Autumn Cup at Ellenbrook Speedway Western Aus and finished up 5th. I had the honour to race my sup- porters Street Stock (Williams Motor- sport) in an all ladies event and placed 1st in that which was held in Margert River Western Aus.
IWMA: Where do you race?
I am so lucky I get to travel, I have raced as far as 3000km (1864 miles) away from home. I have raced at the fol- lowing WA tracks. Ellenbrook, Moora, Bunbury, Margaret River, Kalgoorlie, Albany, Collie, Geraldton, Kellerberrin, and many more!
IWMA: What kind of racecar do you have?
I have a Yellow, Mitsubishi Sigma. Known in my fam- ily as the ‘Money Pit’ LOL!
IWMA: What class do you run in?
I run in a Speed- way Sedans Austra- lian Division called Production Sedans. IWMA: Are there other women who race at your track? Are you friends with them?
There are a few other women who are registered in our division in Western Aus and I have a great respect for them as we are
maybe 3 or 4 out of 60 men!
IWMA: What is your goal for your racing career?
My goal is to race until I can no longer
race...Enjoy it no matter where I finish. Continued to page 3533
