Jennifer Losey is a Die-Hard Racer By: Linda Spangler
Jenni Losey is a humble Burg Stock racer that sports the number 20 Ford Escort at Michigan’s own Galesburg Speedway. In her third night of rac- ing she led the first five laps and ended up coming in 8th place. From then on out she was hooked on the adren- aline rush. In Jenni’s first year of racing she already has under her belt two-7th, and two-8th place finishes. She also has the fastest lap which was 19.974 at Gales- burg Speedway. Her goals are to be a successful open
wheeled modified dirt racer. This young lady is the youngest of 2 brothers and 4 sisters and has been a
fan of racing all her life. “My dad and his family have always been involved in racing, all his brothers and both my grandma and grandpa race at the local tracks. I have always watched my dad and his best friend Eddie race at Gales- burg Speedway, Kalamazoo Speedway and other local tracks. I wanted to do it too since they always had fun when they raced. I wanted to be included in the fun.” Jenni has proven that racing is
definitely in her blood.
Jenni is a die-hard racer that’s
determined to finish a race no matter what happens. When she was racing at Galesburg, during a night race, she was hit hard on the side of her race car. Not wanting to stop racing, she kept going even though the car kept popping out of third gear.
Jenni also credits her mom, dad, brother, her cousin, her best friend
Shelbie Bissett and the McGhan family for her success as well. They all come out to help her with her car at the races when they can. Through her determi- nation, experience, ability and her will- ingness to help others is what drives her to do her best at every race.
Jenni’s favorite NASCAR racers are Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart, who is now retried and racing dirt/clay only. When she’s not racing or watch-
ing racing she attends classes at Kellogg Community College. Her long term goals are to work in a radiology department for a local hospital and eventually work her way into being a Fo- rensic Scientist.
