        This touring route will take you directly from Glasgow back over the border into England
        and the glories of the Lake District.  And just before you cross the border you will have a
        chance to visit the famous Gretna Green Blacksmith’s Shop.

        About 85 miles, 1 ½ hrs.

        From the city centre, find your way to the M8 and travel south, crossing the bridge over the River
        Clyde.

        The signs will initially say “M77 / Kilmarnock” and “Glasgow Airport / Greenock / M8”.


        Keep in the left hand lane ready to exit for the M74. The early signs will say “(A730) / East
        Kilbride”
