cathedral precinct. On a quiet day you might get parking in the immediate vicinity. The parking
attendant is very helpful. Otherwise there is the Old George Mall carpark a little further along on
the left.

These road notes, for Touring Routes 1 and 5 on the map, will get you out of London and on directly
to Salisbury, though if you take my advice you’ll opt for the route through Winchester (Touring
Routes 1 and 7 on the map). Much more interesting.

Starting from the M25 it’s a trip of 88 miles, about 2 1/4 hrs in normal traffic conditions.
You take the M3 to just past Basingstoke, the A303 to Andover and the A343 and A30 to
Salisbury.
