Stone Soup
“I call this Stone Soup because it reminds me of the children's story Stone Soup as told by Marilyn Sapienza. I'll list the
basic ingredients, but I've never made the same soup twice because I usually run out of room in the crockpot or soup
pot for everything I'd like to put in. Can be made with or without meat, depending on your mood.”
1/3 of potful of bone broth
1 lb. meat, browned
Black beans, 1 can
Kidney beans, 1 can
Celery, 4‐5 stalks, chopped
Onion, 1, chopped
Cabbage, 2 cups, chopped
Bouillon, 2‐4 cubes
Bay leaves, 2‐3
Potatoes, 5‐6, chopped
Peas, 1 can or 1 small frozen bag
Carrots, 2‐3 large, chopped
Add any other vegetables you want that will fit in the pot
Salt & pepper to taste
1. Put all ingredients in crock pot.
2. Cook on high until boiling, then cook on low until the potatoes are soft
(a couple of hours), stirring occasionally.
3. Add water as needed.
