ABSTRACT

A multimeter is an electronic measuring device that combines several functions such as measuring
voltage, current and resistance. There are two types of multimeters, namely analog multimeters
and digital multimeters. The first multimeter was invented in 1820 called a galvanometer. As for
the digital multimeter, it was created in the 1950s. For analog multimeters it is easy to damage if
not used carefully (Tharin, 2018). With this, it is in line with the objective to develop a multimeter
application so that its use is easier and may last quite a while as it only requires a smartphone to
access it. In addition, the creation of this application should be parallel to the original multimeter
so that the readings are displayed on the application display. With this, experiments need to be
performed to determine the display data on the multimeter application in parallel with the existing
digital multimeter. In addition, the method used to complete this project was through a
questionnaire to 17 respondents. In this study, I was able to identify a common problem faced by
multimeter users. In conclusion, from this year -end project I have gained new knowledge about
multimeters and was able to identify the problems that are often faced by users of these multimeters
