….Standing in the Hall of Fame!




                         “I know this practice is going to be something special, and it’s a privilege to
                          be a part of it,” Justin Pretzer stated.
                           Justin Pretzer has been in the insurance industry for 14 years. Of those first
                            five years, he quit seven or eight times. “It was way harder than I thought it
                           was,” Pretzer joked.
                           Lucky for us he didn’t quit and he joined the HUB family as he came from Der
                          Manoel Insurance, which HUB acquired in February 2018. So how did he push
                      through and become a successful Agribusiness Expert?
          Pretzer was born and raised in California.  His family was raisin growers, which in his own words he
          described “not being overly appealing,” but the industry itself spoke to him. Agriculture was around
          him - from his family, to it being a by-product of the area he lived. So why didn’t he follow in the
          same footsteps of those before him? “I didn’t like getting dirty or sweating a lot,” he joked.
          Joking aside, Pretzer was looking for a way to get involved with the industry that surrounded him in
          a way that he could enjoy.
          “This is a fun way for me to get into an industry that was always changing,” he explained. The
          industry continues to reinvent itself and selling insurance is a career that compensates him and
          allows freedom.
          Pretzer works jointly with Jon Black – a partnership that gives unique perspective.  A lot of his
          focus is on packer and shipper logistics, large scale facilities, and some growing aspects. The bulk
          of what he does is grower-shipper-packer related. He noted that he’s available if someone needs to
          do a deep dive, or has questions. That’s one of the pros about having these practices; you get to
          pick experts’ brains.
          “Having the [agribusiness] practice has afforded us the opportunities to chase larger accounts,
          showing the resources we have,” he said. Being part of the practice makes it easier to leverage out-
          of-state resources that you typically don’t have working alone.
          “It’s been fun. A short career of perseverance. I highly recommend this industry.”
