Notes:

1. Books that are published must comply with research book standards, such as the book
must have been reviewed and edited.

2. Books must satisfy the usual requirements, such as title page, contents, foreword, ISBN,
index and copyright.

3. Publishers registered with certification bodies, such as MAPIM, are recognised. Examples
of an unrecognised publisher is LAMBERT Publisher

MONITORING MECHANISM

• The Schools’ Publication Committee to arrange meetings (four times a year) between the
Dean and staff who do not have any publications.
• The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Research & Innovation
Management Centre, Institute of Quality Management and the Registrar to arrange
meetings for staff without publications with the Vice-Chancellor.
